16 Mar The Simpsons Have Released A Sequel To A Classic Episode
As many Simpsons fans are aware, Season Four’s classic opening episode ‘Kamp Krusty’ was originally going to be the first Simpsons Movie. However, things never eventuated and plan was scrapped, which was disappointing as we at Four Finger Discount felt there was a lot more to the story that writers could have fleshed out.
Well, it seems our prayers have been answered.
For the first time in the series’ 28-season history, they have finally released a sequel to an earlier episode. As you may have guessed, it’s a direct sequel to Kamp Krusty, simply titled ‘Kamp Krustier’.
The idea that many of our favourite classic episodes from the “golden era” may now be revisited (please oh please revisit ‘You Only Move Twice’, we need more Hank Scorpio in our lives more than ever), is something we are incredibly excited about. It could become an annual tradition, much like the Treehouse Of Horror episodes have become a staple of the show since Season Two.
Now we understand many of you may be concerned that since it’s been more than 20 years since these episodes orignally aired, that the new staff may not be able to capture the same magic as those who came before. Well have no fear, for ‘Kamp Krustier’ has been written by the same man who wrote the original, David M Stern, making his first visit back into the writing room since 1999.
Safe to say, things just got a hell of a lot more interesting. Which classic Simpsons episodes do YOU want to see sequels to? Comment and let us know!
NOTE: This was written prior to viewing the episode, we will give our thoughts once ‘Kamp Krusitier’ has been viewed.
